Thailand Changes Visa-Free Stay to 30 Days

Thailand has reduced the visa-free stay for tourists from 60 days to 30 days. The new rule starts on September 1, 2026.

What Does This Mean?

If you have a passport from one of the 60 eligible countries or territories, you can enter Thailand without a visa for tourism and stay for up to 30 days.

This is a reduction from the previous 60-day visa-free allowance.

Entering Thailand by Land

Most visa-free travellers entering Thailand through a land border can now do so no more than twice in a calendar year under the visa-free scheme.

However, this restriction does not apply to citizens of Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia or Singapore.

What About Singaporeans?

Singapore passport holders can enter Thailand without a visa for tourism for up to 30 days.

If entering Thailand by land, Singaporeans are not subject to the twice-per-year restriction.
