Sri Racha Floods: More Than 200 Households Told to Evacuate

September 25, 2026

Heavy rain has caused serious flooding in Nong Kham, Sri Racha, Chonburi.

  • More than 200 households have been told to evacuate because floodwater is nearly 1 metre deep and could rise further.
  • Residents are being moved to Wat Nong Kham, where they can stay safely overnight.
  • Officials are giving priority to older people, sick people, and bedridden patients.
  • Rescue workers have used boats to help people leave flooded homes.
  • Residents said they had never experienced flooding this severe before.

Why is the flooding so bad?

Nong Kham is in a low-lying area shaped like a basin, making it difficult for the water to drain away.

Officials inspected the area at around 2pm on September 25 and warned that the water level could continue to rise.

Residents have been moving electrical appliances and other belongings to higher places to protect them from the water.

Pattaya Bans All Boats From Leaving Shore

Because of strong winds, heavy rain and high waves, the Pattaya Marine Office has banned all boats from leaving shore.

  • Fishing boats
  • Speedboats
  • Jet skis

A red flag has been raised to warn people about the dangerous sea conditions.

Several boats and other property have already been damaged by the strong weather. Officials are also recovering damaged boat parts from Pattaya Beach.

Koh Si Chang Ferry Service Suspended

Ferry services between Koh Loi Pier in Sri Racha and Koh Si Chang have also been temporarily suspended.

The ferries have remained at the pier because thunderstorms, strong winds and high waves make travel unsafe.

Local fishermen have also stopped going out to sea and are keeping their boats anchored for safety.

In Short

  • Sri Racha: More than 200 households are being evacuated because of severe flooding.
  • Pattaya: All boats are temporarily banned from leaving shore because of dangerous sea conditions.
  • Koh Si Chang: Ferry services from Sri Racha have been suspended until conditions become safer.
