Missing Russian Siblings Mystery Deepens After Buried Motorcycle Found

A disturbing discovery has deepened the mystery surrounding two missing Russian siblings in Chonburi.

Police uncovered the pair's dismantled motorcycle buried in an old cemetery on Wednesday—but the siblings themselves are still missing.

Who Are the Missing Siblings?

The missing pair are 22-year-old Diana Nazimova and her 17-year-old brother, Roman Nazimov, originally from Tyumen, Russia.

Although some early reports referred to them as tourists, the family had actually been living in the Pattaya area for several years. Their mother, Zarina Nazimova, moved to Thailand in 2018, while Diana and Roman reportedly joined her in 2021 after initially remaining in Russia.

The siblings disappeared on July 26 after leaving home on their Honda ADV 150 motorcycle.

Chilling Final Messages

Before they vanished, Diana reportedly sent her mother a series of alarming messages.

• She believed someone was following them.
• According to Russian media, her iPhone warned that an unknown Bluetooth tracking device appeared to be travelling with them.
• Her final message reportedly read: "Urgent!"

Shortly afterward, both siblings' phones went offline.

CCTV footage later showed Roman riding the motorcycle with Diana on the back. Investigators say another motorcycle appeared to be following them before the siblings disappeared.

Motorcycle Buried in Pieces

After local residents reported seeing several men burying something at a former cemetery near Chak Taeng intersection in Huai Yai, police rushed to investigate.

What they found was shocking.

Buried underground was a black-and-grey Honda ADV 150, taken apart and hidden in separate pieces. Police confirmed the motorcycle belonged to the missing siblings.

The cemetery sits about 200 metres from the Na Jomtien–Map Ta Phut motorway.

Search Intensifies

The discovery triggered an intensive search of the surrounding area.

• Investigators combed nearby land for clues.
• Rescue teams prepared divers to search a nearby pond.
• Police continued looking for any evidence that could reveal what happened to Diana and Roman.

Despite the major breakthrough, the siblings have still not been found.

Village Official Raised the Alarm

Assistant subdistrict headman Chakkrit "Uncle Wor" Boonmak said surveillance footage led local officials to focus on the old cemetery.

He was later told that several men had arrived at the site around 10 p.m. carrying digging equipment.

When Chakkrit visited the next morning, he found four men still at the location.

Thinking they could be burying a body—and worried they might be armed—he left immediately and alerted police.

By the time officers returned, the men had disappeared.

Instead of a body, investigators uncovered the buried motorcycle.

Police Search House Linked to Investigation

Later that day, tourist police, immigration officers, local officials and volunteers surrounded a house in Huai Yai after receiving information that a man known as Thong might be hiding there.

Officers called for him to surrender, but only his 55-year-old sister, Kondin Malinin, answered the door.

She told police her brother had not been home for several days.

According to Kondin, she last saw Thong on July 26, when he arrived with another man known as Pong on a red Honda Scoopy motorcycle.

• Both men were covered in mud.
• They claimed they had been fishing near Wat Yansangwararam.
• Kondin said Pong was dressed like a police officer and had a handgun positioned at the front of the motorcycle.
• When asked why the weapon was displayed that way, he reportedly replied that it was "ready for use."

Kondin said she could not confirm whether Pong was actually a police officer.

Two Men Sought for Questioning

Police are continuing efforts to locate Thong and Pong, who remain persons of interest in the investigation.

• Neither man has been charged with a crime.
• Both are wanted for questioning only.
• Police have not announced a motive.
• Authorities say there is currently no official evidence linking the disappearance to any specific criminal activity.

For now, the fate of Diana and Roman remains unknown, and the search continues as investigators hope the buried motorcycle—and the clues surrounding it—will lead them to answers.
